Larson Jewelers looks for two
things when choosing tungsten wedding bands: quality and great design. If a
tungsten ring is not created using the highest grade materials and craftsmanship, we won't carry it. If a tungsten wedding band is not on the
forefront of contemporary design and timeless allure, we cannot carry it. Love it or return it – that is our policy.
Selecting a wedding band is an
important decision. It doesn't have to be one the most expensive
purchases you will make, but it will be one of the most sentimental
purchases you will ever make. Why is tungsten the best metal for you? By
itself, tungsten is a powdery gray metal. It isn't very useful and
can't be worn as a ring. To make it strong, the element, carbon is
bonded to tungsten using extreme heat. The carbon atoms actually go
inside the tungsten atoms, which what makes it so strong. Atoms of
other metals that are used to bond with carbon typically just bond with
the carbon atoms side by side, which makes the bonds easier to break.
The molecules of tungsten carbide arrange themselves like a 3D version
of a chain linked fence. Tungsten carbide is so tough, it is sometimes
classified as a ceramic, which are known for their ability to withstand
high temperatures and high durability. This is why tungsten is used
extensively in aerospace industries and used to make exceptionally tough
industrial tools. When tungsten is made into beautifully crafted
wedding bands, it, like your love will last forever. by: Vanessa LeBeau
