Larson Jewelers looks for the following when choosing which designer brands to carry: quality, lifetime warranty and cutting edge design. If a ring is not created using the highest jewelry grade conflict free materials and craftsmanship, we will not carry it. If a designer does not have the best reputation for quality and craftsmanship, we will not carry their products. If they do not offer a manufacturer backed lifetime warranty we will not even think about working with them. Basically, if we would not wear their rings ourselves, we would not expect you to – that is our policy.
Selecting a wedding band is an
important decision. It doesn't have to be one the most expensive
purchases you will ever make, but it will be one of the most sentimental
purchases you will ever make. Why is tungsten carbide the most scratch resistant metal known to man? Tungsten molecules arrange themselves like a 3D version
of a chain linked fence, which gives it extreme hardness. It is so tough, it is sometimes
classified as a ceramic, which is known for its ability to withstand
high temperatures and resist wear. This is why it is used
extensively in aerospace industries and used to make exceptionally tough
industrial tools. In fact, tungsten wedding bands are so tough, we need to use a laser to engrave on them. Traditional diamond tipped engravers at your local jewelry shop are not able to engrave on them effectively. For more information on this exceptional metal please see our article on the 40 most common minerals found on Earth. By nature, tungsten carbide is a grey color, but can be plated black or white, like the color of platinum. When it is made into beautifully crafted wedding bands, it, like your love, will last forever. by: Vanessa LeBeau
