Customer Service is 5 Star - Product Not So Much...

"I chose Larson Jewelers because of their product selection, and the ring I chose (Augustus Blue Carbon), looked absolutely spectacular...in pictures that is. In real life, the color is hardly as vibrant and the metal is darker than it appears on their website photos. I bought my first ring in 2010, and found the build quality is outstanding, it is strong, has a nice weight to it, and there are no apparent defects. However, what is not apparent cause me to give this ring 3 stars. The blue carbon fiber inlay which is sealed into the ring, fades over time to a dull grey/green. The ring was never damaged, cracked, dropped, broken, or placed in any chemical absent your average household dish soap, shampoo etc. Thinking it was an anomaly, I had the ring replaced in 2014, and since then the same thing occurred, so I had the ring replaced again in 2021. When I inquired with customer service this last time about the carbon fiber inlay fading, she replied, oh yes, the carbon fiber does that and then proudly said but "look, it lasted you 7 years this time around!" Ah, if only that were true. Actually it faded in much less time than that, it simply took me 7 years to get sick of looking at it. In fact it was because I bought myself a beautiful blue shirt and when buttoning it I was able to see the absolute loss of color in my ring. So while I give Larson 5 Stars for prompt and outstanding customer service, this particular ring gets a 3. I wish they would put a disclaimer on their website that the colors you see are studio grade highly professional photos and not the reality of what you will see in real life, and that the carbon fiber loses its vibrancy over time."
